Phlebotomy

We have a regular blood delivery service to a local laboratory in the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar, and transport leaves our centre in Clonbrusk at 11.00am sharp.

We take samples all day long but preferably for same day analysis, before 10.30am Monday to Friday and for full lipid analysis and for full diabetic blood analysis, a 12 hour fast prior to taking blood is advised. Provided you know what tests you require, phlebotomy may be carried out by our Practice Nurse. It is sometimes advisable to have these blood tests carried out some five days or more prior to a doctor’s visit.

Blood tests are normally returned that evening or the following day, via the internet based Lablink service, but some blood tests take longer to return.
